About us

Insight Insurance Brokers Association (Insight) is an industry body for insurance brokers and authorised representatives operating throughout Australia.

Insight specialises in the commercial aspects most important to small and medium-sized brokers and authorised representatives. We are not an insurance brokerage and do not deal directly with the public.

As an association, we provide members with the necessary support and assistance to ensure they are able to expand their businesses while continuing to provide the benefits of a professional service at a local, personalised level.

Insight membership enables small and medium-sized brokers and authorised representatives to achieve economy of scale through the collective buying power of the association

Insight promotes educational activities that engage members. In workshops and seminars we aim to improve members' understanding of issues affecting the insurance industry and to ensure they comply with industry regulations.

We conduct regular workshops and events to give members a platform for sharing ideas, experiences, opportunities and solutions while building networks in the association and the wider industry.

Insight was established in 1996 as the Regional Insurance Brokers Association (RIBA).

Founded by a cluster of insurance brokers from Ballarat Victoria, the association concerned itself with commercial aspects important to the regional broker – not just city brokers.

In 2006, the Regional Insurance Brokers Association altered its membership base to include insurance brokers throughout Australia in both metropolitan and regional areas.

The following year the association changed its name to the Australasian Association of Insurance Brokers (AAIB). In 2008 it became the Insight Insurance Brokers Association.

Insight continues to evolve and is currently one of the most proactive associations helping support the growing number of Authorised Representatives providing insurance across the country.
